Rack Electroplating

Expert corrosion protection for lasting durability.

RackElectroplating

Rack electroplating is a precision coating technique where metal items are mounted on racks and submerged in an electrolytic solution. This method allows for uniform deposition of metal coatings, providing excellent corrosion resistance and aesthetic finish. Ideal for complex shapes and larger components, rack electroplating ensures that every surface is evenly coated.

Our process is tailored to meet specific client requirements, offering a variety of coatings including nickel, chrome, and zinc, which enhance the performance and longevity of your products.

Rack Electroplating finish on steel components

Why It Matters

Rack electroplating plays a vital role in finishing parts that require precision, durability, and protection. By securely mounting each component, it ensures even metal distribution without damaging delicate or complex surfaces. This method is ideal for larger items or those with detailed features, delivering a consistent, high-quality finish that enhances both performance and appearance.

The Process, Step by Step

  1. 1

    Degrease & pickle

Parts are cleaned and acid pickled so the zinc bonds to bare, oxide-free steel.

  2. 2

    Rack & plate

Each component is mounted on a rack alongside the anodes for even current distribution.

  3. 3

    Passivate

A trivalent blue or yellow passivation is applied, with optional top coats for extra salt-spray life.

  4. 4

    Inspect & dispatch

Coating thickness and finish are checked through the batch before packing and delivery.
